Business Tax Planning & Preparation

Most businesses meet their tax preparer twice a year. By then, the planning opportunities are gone. Balance Partners handles business tax as a year-round discipline — planning ahead of deadlines, preparing accurate returns, and keeping the books tax-ready the whole time.

The problems we usually see

  • Tax planning that happens after year-end, when nothing can be changed
  • Surprises at filing time — balances due nobody warned you about
  • A preparer who’s never seen your books until February
  • Quarterly estimates that are guesses, not calculations

How Balance Partners helps

Because we maintain the books and prepare the returns, planning happens continuously. We calculate quarterly estimates from real numbers, flag decisions with tax consequences before you make them, and prepare business and owner returns from books we already trust.

What’s included

  • Business tax return preparation (and owner returns, where engaged)
  • Year-round tax planning and projections
  • Quarterly estimated tax calculations
  • Entity structure and S-corporation election guidance
  • IRS and state notice and correspondence support
  • Representation before the IRS by an Enrolled Agent, when needed

What you receive

Filed returns and copies for your records, quarterly estimate vouchers with plain-English explanations, a tax calendar, and planning notes ahead of key deadlines.

Who this is for

Businesses that want their tax preparer and their bookkeeper to be the same accountable professional, and owners tired of learning about tax problems after it’s too late to fix them.

FAQs

Common questions

Can you take over mid-year from another preparer?

Yes. We review prior returns and current-year activity as part of onboarding, and our transition process is designed to be low-disruption.

Do you only do taxes if you also do my books?

Tax-only engagements are considered case by case. The most value — and the fewest surprises — come from combining the two.

Can you help with an IRS notice I already received?

Yes — notice response and correspondence support is part of this service, and Jenny is an Enrolled Agent authorized to represent taxpayers before the IRS.
